The Florida Middle Grounds Day Trip is a serious long-range offshore spearfishing run built for experienced divers who want to hunt one of the most talked-about areas in the Gulf without committing to an overnight trip.
This is not a local reef run, not a beginner trip, and not a basic dive charter. The Middle Grounds is approximately 78 miles offshore at minimum, which means the boat is covering roughly 156 miles round trip before any extra running, spot changes, current, weather, or fuel reserve.
This trip is a high-effort, high-opportunity day built around the right weather window, qualified divers, tight planning, and a serious fish-focused approach.
Because of the distance, fuel burn, gear load, and trip quality, Middle Grounds Day Trips are limited to a maximum of 4 divers.
Gulf Coast visibility can change quickly. Some days are clear and productive, and some days are not. We plan trips around the best available weather, water, and safety window, but visibility and fish harvest are never guaranteed.
Spearfishing is hunting. Fish are never guaranteed.
Florida Spearfishing Charters uses commercial spearfishing experience and local Gulf structure knowledge to put divers in the best possible position, but harvest depends on weather, visibility, current, season, legal fish availability, diver ability, and shot opportunity.
Do not have a full group? We may be able to help connect qualified divers with other divers looking to join a similar Gulf wreck trip. A minimum of two people per group is required for booking.
Private trips are built around safety, diver ability, conditions, and trip goals. Florida Spearfishing Charters does not guarantee placement, compatibility, or approval. Every diver must meet the requirements for the trip and be approved before joining.
Florida Spearfishing Charters is not a standard dive boat. Every trip is built around the right divers, the right weather window, the right structure, and the best opportunity to put fish on the boat.
Tell us your experience level, group size, certifications, target trip, and preferred dates. We’ll review the conditions, trip plan, and diver requirements before confirming the best option for your group.
All spearfishing charters are weather-dependent, visibility-dependent, and safety-dependent. Florida Spearfishing Charters reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any trip due to weather, visibility, sea conditions, diver ability, equipment concerns, safety issues, or operational concerns.
All divers must be certified, competent, physically fit to dive, and able to follow captain and crew instructions. No alcohol or drugs are permitted before or during the trip. Fish harvest is never guaranteed.
